The Project

Bell provided competitive quotation for internal redecoration works for the classrooms and other areas within the College. Scope of works included; preparing existing surfaces and apply 2 coats of vinyl matt emulsion or acrylic eggshell finishes to previously painted ceilings and walls, one undercoat and one gloss to previously painted timber and metal surfaces.

Key challenges overcome:  Bell were tasked to complete these works within strict time frame. This was due to the school being closed for summer and then reopening when the new academic year begins. Due to Bell Group’s flexibility and strength in resources, we were able to successfully carry out works in the strict time frame.

End Result:  All works were completed to the satisfaction of the client with no health and safety issues. Further, Bell demonstrated value for money to the client through innovation on paint specification, guaranteeing quality and longevity. Along with demonstrating strength in resources and flexibility to complete works in within timeframe. Client has advised that based on our excellent quality, delivery and service we will be invited to tender for future projects

About St Columba's College

St Columba's College is a Roman Catholic independent school for boys aged 4–18. Located in St Albans, Hertfordshire, it was founded in 1939 by Philip O’Neill before being acquired by the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in 1955. It is a member of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference of leading independent schools. Facing St Albans Cathedral across the River Ver, the college is built around two historic houses, Watling House and Iona House.
