Health Bulletin 10 CV 20-03-20 - Office Access Protocols

Risk Avoidance Protocol for Bell staff accessing Bell offices/buildings.

A note from our Chief Executive (19.03.20)

Team,

I’d like to say thank you.

I appreciate this is an incredibly stressful time for everyone however, throughout the country you have all remained incredibly committed with your desire to keep going and work through the problems we are all facing together. For over 32 years, the Bell community has faced challenges big and small head on, supporting each other and working together; this will be no different. I’m confident we will look back on this time as, undoubtedly, a period of extreme challenge, but also a period that taught us lessons which will stay with us for our lifetime, and ultimately make us stronger.

Please be reassured that our number one priority is your health, safety and wellbeing and our management team is working tirelessly to establish safe working practices that will allow us all to continue earning a living without risk to our health. I urge you to read the guidance notes and bulletins being sent from Bell Safety Services; they are designed to keep you and your colleagues safe and healthy.

As a responsible employer, we are here to help you cope mentally and physically with the threat of Covid-19. We will continue to give you the best guidance available and to help every individual stay safe. We have already taken the following measures:

  • An Action Group was set up last month, with our MD, CEO and HSE Director collaborating daily to take swift and appropriate actions in line with the advice set out by the NHS, Health Protection Scotland, Public Health England and the Government. The Action Group protocol considers correct and current advice to enable strategic operational decisions to be made and to keep all our employees informed of best practice.
  • We have set up this web page specifically to keep you informed and enhance communication group-wide. Please check this webpage (bellgroup.co.uk/togetherbell), as often as possible for updates and advice.
  • A specific Bell helpdesk coronavirus@bellgroup.co.uk has been set up and is manned securely by only senior Company Management to help you with any concerns. This may include if you’re concerned about the impact on your finances or to query meeting arrangements or site operational changes due to COVID-19.
  • We will continue to disseminate important advice as well as changes to policies and procedures via our emailed Safety bulletins. These will also be posted on site noticeboards, delivered as Tool Box Talks and selected notices will be posted on our dedicated ‘TogetherBell’ web page.

Please also remember our Wellbeing support service is available to all Bell employees and your families 24/7. This is an anonymous helpline manned by professional psychologists who are able to give support and guidance on any issues you may be encountering during this difficult period. Contact Health Assured on 0800 030 5182 or visit healthassuredeap.com

Throughout our history, our employees have relied on us during challenging circumstances. We don’t take that lightly and in the coming weeks we will share more about what we are doing to help you and the wider community, particularly the most vulnerable members.

It’s the kindness and support that we give to each other that will help us get through these challenging times.

Take care and a big thank you from The Bell Family.

Craig Bell – Chief Executive
